Paul was born in Holland August 1, 1948 to Chester and Alma (Cook) Kuiper. He was a lifelong resident of the area, and a member of St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church. Paul graduated from Holland High School, was a board member for the Fire Department for Zeeland Twp., and Renew Therapeutic Riding Center in Holland. He volunteered for Holland and Ottawa County Victim Services for over 30 years, and worked as a financial planner for many years.
Paul was a man full of life and laughter, who touched the hearts of many, and left an indelible mark on the community through his spirit of volunteerism and his unwavering dedication to making the world a better place. He was a master of connections, always knowing how to bring people together, forging bonds, and ensuring that kindred spirits found one another. His kindness, wisdom, and genuine care for others created ripples that will continue to spread far and wide. The family finds comfort in knowing that Heaven now holds his soul, are blessed to have had him in their lives, and even more blessed to feel his watchful presence from above. His legacy will live on in the lives he touched, the connections he made, and the love he gave so freely.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Alma; sister Ruth Husted; and brother-in-law Henry Hunderman.
Paul is survived by his wife Louise Kreun; children Betsy (Kuiper) and Brian Turnbull (Samuel and Micah), Emily (Kuiper) and Dave Garcia (Max and Lilly), Joel Kuiper and Jackie Owens; Louise’s children John and Michelle Vancalbergh, and Kyle and Teresa Kreun (Hannah); sister Mary DeWitt; many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
A visitation for Paul will be held Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James St., Holland, Michigan 49424, and Friday, February 21, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 171 W 13th St, Holland, Michigan 49423.
A Mass of Christian Burial Service will be Friday, February 21, 2025, 11:00am, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 171 W 13th St, Holland, Michigan 49423.
Burial will take place at Pilgrim Home Cemetery at 1:00pm.
