Julian Christian Barrios died accidentally on January 26, 2025.
He enjoyed hanging out with his brothers & cousins during family dinners, going to shows with friends , his cat “fish”, and his lizards. Julian also enjoyed hiking and camping throughout the woods paving his own path, and sleeping in the woods under the stars, as he spoke of these hobbies his excitement was contagious, even when he had deep hurt. He was always excited to share his latest adventures. Julian deeply loved his brothers even getting each one of there initials tattooed on him!
Julian was an avid swimmer in high school, and later met his goals of swimming for Michigan State. Swimming was a huge part of his life and made life long friends that he deeply cherished. Julian worked for OMT-Veyhl and most recently enjoyed being a coach for the West Ottawa boys water polo team. His passion and excitement for the game and team was contagious. It’s been a road of which only we know the full story…the fears, hopes, confusion and clarity; and lessons about how to hold on in faith, and how to let go of things beyond our control. He was a kind hearted soul that paved his own path through life. He will be missed by many, but we know he is now at peace.
Julian was proceeded in death by his biological father, Chad Mersman and his uncle, Andrew Linn.
Julian is survived by his parents, AJ and Erin Barrios; brothers, Blake Barrios, Ashton Barrios; along with several grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins that all loved him tremendously.
