WATSON TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 18, 2024) – Two persons were hospitalized after a crash west of Martin on Tuesday night.
No names or other identification were disclosed by Allegan County Sheriff’s Sergeant Bernard Austhof, who was among the first responders dispatched to 116th Avenue (M-222) near 14th Street around 5:45 PM. That was where an eastbound SUV attempted to pass a pickup truck, but found out that there wasn’t enough room to complete the move. The SUV veered back into the eastbound lane and was rear-ended by the pickup. The collision caused the SUV to spin into a westbound SUV.
Two persons involved in the incident were taken to undisclosed “area hospitals” for treatment, with one being initially listed in serious condition. The area was blocked off for about two hours as a result.
The crash remains under investigation.
