PARK TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 18, 2024) – A 15-year-old Holland boy is in Holland Hospital after the bicycle that he was pedaling was struck by a vehicle on Holland’s North Side on Wednesday evening.
No names were given by Ottawa County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Eric Westveer after the incident on Ottawa Beach road west of Waukazoo Drive around 7:15 PM. The driver of the westbound vehicle, a 22-year-old Holland woman, told deputies that the cyclist had been riding on the north side of the roadway on a two-track when he suddenly pedaled in front of her vehicle, and a collision was unavoidable. The helmeted teen suffered what Westveer said was moderate injuries, while the driver was unhurt.
The incident remains under investigation.
