GEORGETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 11, 2024) – A 46-year-old Hudsonville man was injured in a crash involving a SUV and a motorcycle north of Hudsonville on Monday evening.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Eric Westveer, the unnamed biker had stopped for a red light on Port Sheldon Street at 36th Avenue around 6:15 PM when his machine was struck from behind by the westbound SUV, whose driver, a 75-year-old Hudsonville man, apparently didn’t see the red light or the motorcycle ahead of him. The helmeted biker was thrown from his machine, and although he was taken to an undisclosed “area hospital” for treatment, his injuries were considered moderate. The at-fault motorist was not hurt.
The crash remains under investigation.
