Benjamin Dale Nyhoff, age 36, of Zeeland, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024 after a four year battle with osteosarcoma. Ben is survived by his wife of 12 years Kristen, his sons Lucas and Jackson; his parents Dave and Cindy Nyhoff; his siblings and their children: Sarah and Chad Kraai (Lincoln and Quincy), and Adam Nyhoff; his mother-in-law: Lisa Beukers; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Dave and Laura Beukers, and brother-in-law: Ethan Beukers; his grandparents-in-law: John and Ruth Beukers, and Sharon Kelley; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
Ben was preceded in death by his father-in-law: Daniel Beukers; his grandparents: Robert and Lorraine Nyhoff, John and Tressa Yonker and grandfather-in-law Russell Kelley.
Ben graduated from Zeeland East High School in 2006 and Grand Valley State University in 2010 with a degree in Nonprofit Administration. He worked for a number of nonprofit organizations, most recently as Philanthropy Director at Kids’ Food Basket, fulfilling his lifelong passion of providing food security for everyone.
Ben was devoted to his family and had a deep and inspiring faith. He loved leading worship at various churches and worship music ministered to him throughout his life and especially during his difficult cancer journey.
Visitation will be 2-4pm and 6-8pm Friday, March 8, 2024, in Ren’s Café at Ridge Point Community Church (please use door E), 340 104th Ave, Holland.
A celebration of Ben’s life and faith will be held at 11am Saturday, March 9, 2024, in the Auditorium at Ridge Point Community Church (please use drive 3 and door F). The service will be livestreamed at https://vimeo.com/event/4107473.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ben’s honor may be given to Kids’ Food Basket at Kids Food Basket – Ben Nyhoff memorials.
