Terry Schurman, age 81, of Holland, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at his home surrounded by family.
Terry graduated from Holland High School in 1960 and served in the US Army National Guard from 1964-1969. On February 5, 1965 he married the love of his life, Karen Rotman. Terry started his career as a boat builder with Slickcraft, then worked as an electrician at De Pree Electric for many years, and finally as a maintenance supervisor at ITW Drawform. In retirement Terry could often be found putting his electrical and construction talents to use in helping family, friends and neighbors with home projects big and small. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and traveling with Karen. They made many memories on cruises with family and friends and road trips to most all of the National Parks. In his later years, Terry became an avid runner, and got outside for at least a walk in almost any weather. Most of all, Terry loved spending time with his grandchildren and supporting them in their various activities.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Walton and Marian Schurman; parents-in-law, James and Jerine Rotman; sister, Judy Bosch; and in-laws, Roger and Alma Rotman, and Stan Windemuller.
