GRAND HAVEN TWP. MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 9, 2023) – An 80-year-old Grand Haven woman lost her life in a two-vehicle crash south of the Ottawa County seat on Sunday morning.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Matt Wildfong, deputies and other first responders were dispatched at 7:50 AM to the intersection of Ferris Street and 152nd Avenue. That was where an eastbound sedan apparently drove through a stop sign and into the path of a southbound pickup truck.
The subsequent collision caused the sedan to roll over onto the shoulder of the road, and the lone motorist in that automobile was declared deceased at the scene by the Ottawa County Medical Examiner’s Office. The pickup driver, a 74-year-old Grand Haven man, was taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment of what was only described as non-life threatening injuries.
No names were immediately disclosed as the incident remains under investigation.
