GEORGETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 21, 2023) – A 59-year-old Hudsonville woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash between Hudsonville and Allendale on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Michael Tammenga, deputies and other first responders were dispatched to 48th Avenue near Fillmore Street shortly before 3 PM. That was where a 17-year-old Allendale woman, driving a SUV northbound, rear-ended a northbound minivan that had stopped in the roadway, waiting for southbound traffic to clear in order to make a left turn into a private driveway. The force of the collision sent both vehicles into a culvert west of the roadway.
The minivan driver was taken to a “local” hospital in stable condition for treatment of her injuries, while the teenage motorist suffered bumps and bruises and was treated at the scene. The collision blocked southbound traffic for a period while the vehicles were moved and the drivers were tended to.
No names were disclosed as the incident remains under investigation.
