HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Ottawa County Emergency Management, the National Weather Service’s Grand Rapids office, and Kent County Emergency Management officials will host weather-spotter training from 6:30-9:30 p.m., Feb. 25, 2020, at the Hudsonville freshman campus auditorium, 3370 Allen St., in Hudsonville.
This course is conducted by meteorologists from NOAA’s National Weather Service and provides a baseline training for all spotters covering procedures for spotting (including communication and spotter report criteria). Storm spotters provide valuable information on all types of weather hazards, especially thunderstorms, to meteorologists in their local National Weather Service forecast offices.
