HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A 26-year-old Muskegon woman suffered what police called moderate injuries after a two-vehicle crash just before 9 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2020.
She’d been driving a 4-door Pontiac G6 north on 16th Avenue and slowed for the stop sign at Gooding Street in Chester Township, according to Sheriff’s Sgt. Eric Westveer. An empty dump truck, with a 65-year-old Muskegon man at the wheel, had been eastbound on Gooding, approaching 16th Avenue.
The woman failed to stop for the stop sign, her G6 hitting the dump truck, which then went off the road and rolled, landing back on its wheels, he said. The truck driver is unhurt. The woman went by ambulance to Hackely Hospital for treatment. Both drivers had been wearing seatbelts, and alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
