FENNVILLE, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) — For the first time in 35 years, the 2020 Fennville Goose Festival, which happens every October, will be canceled.
Organizers made the announcement on Facebook, writing that while they are committed to “bringing our community together to celebrate local and family traditions,” the pandemic is making the traditonal festival impossible.
The volunteers who make the festival happen every year are, they say, “working hard to devise a few creative ways to celebrate … while staying safe and supporting our community.”
The announcement notes the decision was difficult and organizers expect people to be enormously disappointed but encourage Goose Fest fans to continue following the event’s Facebook page for upcoming announcements, and ended by thanking everyone for thier patience and understanding.
