HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Allegan County Prosecutor Myrene Koch has filed murder and first-degree child-abuse charges against a suspect in the case of a 2-year-old child’s death. Her office won’t identify the suspect until after arraignment, but WOOD TV is reporting that case details line up with the May 11 death of 2-year-old Kayden Blackmer.
The toddler’s mother’s boyfriend, Joshua Martin was charged in May with second-degree child abuse in connection with injuries found on Kayden’s Rosalee, then 10-months old.
The children were rushed to the hospital May 9th. After Kayden died two days later, Family members said he’d had head and chest injuries, bleeding on his brain, broken ribs and a collapsed lung.
The children’s father disclosed that Rosalee suffered skull and rib fractures, from which she is recovering.
The Michigan Office of Children’s Ombudsman officials are also investigating Kayden Blackmer’s death.
