OTTAWA COUNTY (WHTC-AM/FM) — Ottawa County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating an early morning strong-armed robbery that occurred Thursday, Jan. 30, 2019.
Ottawa County Sheriff’ Sgt. Brian Buter said the victim told police she was accosted on 16th Street, west of US-31 in Holland Township, as she was walking from Century Lane to the Speedway gas station, between 5 and 6 a.m.
The victim described the assailants as two light-skinned males, walking west, opposite her direction. As the men approached, she told police, they demanded her money and when she refused, they assaulted her and took her wallet. The men were last seen running west, toward Pilgrim Home Cemetery on 16th Street.
One suspect is 6-feet or more tall and the second suspect is shorter, she told police. The man who assaulted her was wearing a balaclava face mask and the second suspect wore a stocking cap pulled down to his eyes with a scarf pulled up covering his nose and mouth, she told police.
The victim was treated and released from Holland Hospital.
