HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jul. 7, 2026) – It looks as if Holland Township has found its new operational leader.
That municipality’s Board of Trustees, during a Noontime special meeting on Tuesday, unanimously approved an employment agreement with Josh Eggleston to be the new Township Manager. He was the only candidate to be interviewed during a June 25th board meeting, concluding a search process, which involved more than 40 candidates, to replace Steve Bulthuis, who had submitted his retirement notice in February after eight years at the post. Bulthuis has agreed to remain in an advisory capacity during Eggleston’s transition period, with his new duties beginning on August 24.
Eggleston comes from Zeeland Township, where he has been its superintendent for the past two years, following a six-year stint as Wayland’s city manager. The move is in the midst of the township working on a renewable energy ordinance, as RWE Americas is attempting to build a 200-megawatt Silver Maple Solar Farm over 1,900 acres. The Zeeland Charter Township board has a regular meeting scheduled for Tuesday evening (7 PM, Zeeland Township Hall, 6582 Byron Rd.) to not only go over the process for replacing Eggleston, but also discuss, behind closed doors, litigation the township has pending against Silver Maple PV LLC.
