HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 23, 2022) – A 41-year-old Holland man is recovering, while a 37-year-old Holland man is in custody and has been arraigned on charges, following a stabbing incident on Holland’s North Side during the overnight hours on Sunday.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Matthew Wildfong, deputies were dispatched to the area near Woodside Drive and Franklin Street, in the vicinity of Riley Street and 136th Avenue, around 3:40 AM. They found the unnamed victim with a non-life threatening wound to the arm, and he was taken to an undisclosed hospital in stable condition for treatment.
It was determined that there was a confrontation between those living at the residence and man who appeared, leading to the felonious assault. Witnesses claim that the assailant was a Ramiro Diaz-Jimenez, and he was taken into custody on Sunday afternoon.
On Monday, Diaz-Jimenez was arraigned in Holland District Court on counts of assault to commit great bodily harm less than murder and of felonious assault. Judge Juanita Bocanegra set bond at $100,000, and the accused remains in the Ottawa County Jail.
The case is still open, and anyone who may have information on this incident is asked to contact the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department or Silent Observer (877-887-4536).
