BANGOR, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Bangor Police Department is reporting that a runaway minor has been located.
According to an official press release, officials received information that a runaway was staying with a man at a Bangor apartment in the 200 block of West Monroe.
When police arrived at the building, they found the minor hiding in a bedroom with the 27-year-old suspect. Police say the adult had several outstanding warrants, including a nationwide warrant out of Kentucky for sexual allegations against the minor.
Further investigation revealed that the suspect drove the minor across multiple states and attempted to evade authorities by staying at various locations.
The suspect was arrested for charges in Michigan including the outstanding warrants and was lodged at the Van Buren County Jail to await arraignment.
Meanwhile, the minor was turned over the Van Buren County Juvenile Court.
