HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Holland police detectives are looking for a tips about a vehicle that may have been near Sunday’s fatal crash on Holland’s River Avenue, near First Street, which killed William Montano, 34, of Holland.
A passenger in Montano’s car, Janelle Ortega, 21, of Holland, was taken to Spectrum Health Butterworth in Grand Rapids in critical condition.
The second vehicle is described as a smaller, lighter-colored vehicle — possibly a Honda — northbound on River at a high rate of speed about the same time as the crash, according to a statement emailed to media Thursday evening by Holland Department of Public Safety officials.
That vehicle is not believed to have caused the crash, but detectives want to interview the occupants of that car, to see if they have any information relevant to the crash, according to the police statement.
Police are asking anyone with information as to the vehicle in question or its driver to contact Holland Department of Public Safety’s Sgt. Jon Boeve at (616) 355-1737; call Silent Observer at 1-877-88-SILENT; or email information to policetips@cityofholland.com.
