HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A group formed earlier this year, the Holland Openly Secular Alliance (HOSA) will host a gathering from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at 451 Columbia Ave., between 18th and 19th streets, in Holland.
The topic is “Secular Holidays: Adaptations and Originals.” HOSA members observe such holidays
HOSA meets on a quarterly basis, with a panel discussion on secular parenting and grandparents set for 7 to 8:30 Wednesday, January 16, 20-19, at Herrick District Library, 300 S. River Ave.
Panelists scheduled are Kelli Perkins, Fred and Caroline VanAntwerp, Tim VanHaitsma.
The first HOSA meeting in the new year is set for 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Jan. 26, 2019, at 451 Columbia Ave., with the topic “Secular Resources to Navigate Life’s Twists & Turns.”
HOSA provides secular support, advocacy, and community for the growing number of non-religious individuals and families in the greater Holland area. While HOSA is a secular group, members are open to meeting with people from all faiths and participate in Holland-area interfaith events.
The group meets on the fourth Saturday of each month, at 451 Columbia Ave., and hosts quarterly panels, lectures, and discussions at Herrick District Library, 300 S. River Ave.
