OTTAWA COUNTY (WHTC-AM/FM) — Greenville resident Benjamin Gladding, 25, was arraigned Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, on charges of drunken driving causing death in an Ottawa County District Court.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Mike VandenBosch said the charges stem from the Oct. 28, 2018, crash that killed Allendale resident Brooke Feister, 26.
She had been eastbound on Lake Michigan Drive, in Tallmadge Township, when Gladding, then westbound, crossed the center line. A head-on collision followed, killing Feister.
Gladding was extricated from his vehicle with serious injuries, then rushed to Spectrum Health Butterworth in Grand Rapids.
Gladding is due back in court on Jan. 10, 2019, for a preliminary hearing, VandenBosch said.
