GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The trial of a 26-year-old man who shot and killed a 22-year-old Muskegon man during a crowded altercation at a parking lot on Holland’s North Side nearly 15 months ago is underway.
A jury was seated and heard opening arguments yesterday as Aaron Joshua-John Young is being tried for open murder in the death of Anthony Lamb outside of the Holland Hookah Lounge off of Butternut Drive on September 11th of last year. Prosecutors claimed in opening remarks that Young admitted his guilt to detectives while being extradited back to West Michigan following his arrest in the Memphis area last December, while the defense countered that Young acted in self-defense.
Testimony began today before eight men and six women in the Ottawa County Circuit Courtroom of Judge Jon Hulsing; the trial is expected to last a couple of weeks.
