HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The wheels of justice are moving in the case of a 48-year-old Holland Township man and a 16-year-old accomplice accused of a string of burglaries that included the apparent torching of the Graphix Arts and Embroidery building last month.
Shane William Wheeler was formally arraigned this week in Holland District Court on charges of conspiracy to commit breaking and entering, conspiracy to commit third-degree arson in the blaze off of Lakewood Boulevard and 112th Avenue on November 20th, and being a four-time habitual offender. He was ordered held on 50 thousand dollars bond on these charges, along with an additional 10 thousand-dollar retainer from the state corrections department, as Wheeler had been on parole during the burglary spree that ended with arrests shortly after the Beechwood Cleaners break in off of Douglas Avenue four days later.
As for the unnamed teen, he remains in the Ottawa County Youth Home as Prosecutor Ron Frantz’s Office is still working on having him be charged as an adult.
