PARK TOWNSHIP, MI (WHTC) – The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department is reporting that the body of Riley Hoeksema was recovered from Lake Michigan on Wednesday afternoon.
Hoeksema disappeared near Holland State Park on Sunday night when his small boat capsized. Another 16-year-old identified as Levi Winkle, was rescued by a passing boat. Hoeksema was a junior at Holland Christian High School and a member of the swim team.
Holland Christian students held a prayer vigil at the high school Monday afternoon.
The Memorial service this Friday was moved from Harderwyk Church to Christ Memorial because of the very large crowd expected.
