GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) – An Air Quality Alert has been issued by the state Department of Environmental Quality for tomorrow along the Lakeshore.
Allegan and Ottawa Counties are included in the six-county regional advisory for elevated levels of ozone, with pollutants expected to be the unhealthy range for sensitive groups. The usual precautions about avoiding activities that could lead to ozone formation comes with the alert, and the Holland area’s MAX Transit system will offer free rides on its scheduled fixed bus routes in an effort to cut down on the amount of vehicles on the roadways.
A front that will bring thundershowers and cooler temperatures is expected to cross over the Lakeshore on Sunday, alleviating the hot, humid conditions that contribute to the issuing of such alerts.
