HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) – A 43-year-old Holland man suffered critical injuries while riding his motorcycle on Holland’s North Side on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, Robin Freeman was piloting his machine eastward on Quincy Street around 2:15 PM when he struck the van of Jose Alvarez-Rodriguez, who deputies say drove through a stop sign while going northbound on 104th Avenue. The unhelmeted Freeman was able to lay the motorcycle down but couldn’t avoid a collision, and he was subsequently taken to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital for treatment. Alvarez-Rodriguez, a 59-year-old Holland man, was not hurt.
The crash remains under investigation.
