HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Strong currents and dangerous swimming conditions in Lake Michigan are expected today and into the evening along the lakeshore.
The National Weather Service has issued a Beach Hazard Statement till 6 a.m. Tuesday, September 13 for beaches from Holland to Manistee.
Rip currents are possible along with high waves. Beaches with particulary dangerous conditions include South Beach in South Haven, Grand Haven State Park and Pere Marquette Beach in Muskegon.
Sgt. Cal Kuening of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says to say off piers at the beaches.
