SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC) – A retired Lakeshore blueberry farmer who never let his blindness keep him from public service and aspiring for elected office has died.
Randy Brink passed away on Sunday at the age of 64. He served as an Allegan County Commissioner and unsuccessfully ran for other elected state and local offices in recent years. In last month’s election, he lost to Jon Phillips by 23 votes for Saugatuck Township Supervisor. Mr. Brink consistently based his political campaigns of having less government and lower taxes.
A memorial service for Mr. Brink is on Wednesday afternoon at 4 PM at Lakeshore Memorial Services on Holland’s North Side.
