HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Work on US-31 from 8th to Quincy remains on schedule and will be completed this year.
Leo Evans from MDOT says work on the Frlch Street intersection reconstruction should be complete this week with Felch Street reopened at some point on Friday. The Week of September 26, work will begin to reconstruct the ontersection at the east Riley approach and the following week (10/3/16) will be working the 8th Street intersection.
Work on paving has been steady with a large part of the project from James north to Quincy already having 2/3 layers of asphalt placed. Paving south of James will start shortly as the bridge work will be slowing down and allow for opportunities to pave in that area. The large box culvert is near completion that crosses under US-31 between Greenly and Quincy.
No major changes to the traffic configuration are planned for the next week other than shifting intersection reconstruction and detour locations as noted above.
