HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) – Holland Township firefighters were called to a residence on Butternut Drive north of James Street yesterday morning on a report that a detached garage was ablaze. Crews were able to bring the fire under control and kept the flames from reaching the house, but not before extensive damage to the garage was done. Investigators believe that the blaze started in a boiler used to heat the home. No injuries were reported among residents or firefighters. A damage estimate wasn’t immediately made.
