A wounded Wyoming police officer is out of the hospital and resting at home. Frank Hartuniewicz, a 15 year police veteran substained gunshot wounds yesterday after responding to a domestic dispute. Police reported that a man exited a residence and immediately began firing a gun, striking and wounding Hartuniewicz. The bullet entered right below Hartuniewicz’s bullet proof vest.
After re-entering the house, the suspect again came out shooting, but officers returned fire, and wounded the man who at last report remained hospitalized under police guard. The identity of the shooter has not been released. The wounded officer is expected to make a full recovery.
