Most people have only seen inside Saugatuck’s Felt Mansion in the daylight hours…but at night, it’s a whole different experience. Various paranormal societies- including the Felt Mansion management team themselves- believe that the mansion and adjacent carriage house are both haunted by other-worldly beings.
That’s why for the last two weeks of October, The Felt mansion has opened its doors to the public during the evening hours for paranormal enthusiasts to get a taste of what haunted houses are really like. This won’t be like any haunted house you’ve ever been to- there are no actors and no decorations. It is simply a self-guided “darkness” tour where guests can roam around the inside of the mansion and the carriage house in complete darkness, save for few candles lighting up the windows.
It costs $30 to take one of these tours and guests are encouraged to bring flashlights, cameras, and recording equipment to look for ghosts and strange occurrences. However, children and people who are at risk for falling are not recommended to visit. The tours are available from now until Oct. 31 from 8pm-11:30pm. The Felt Mansion and Carriage House is located at 6597 138th Ave. in Laketown Twp.
