Unemployment Dips Again Along Lakeshore in September

LANSING, MI (WHTC) – Unemployment declined slightly along the Lakeshore and throughout most of Michigan’s regional labor markets last month, according to the state Department of Technology, Management and Budget. Joblessness stood at three percent even in Ottawa County during September, second lowest among Michigan’s 83 counties, while Allegan was fifth lowest at 3.2 percent. Those levels were down two tenths and three tenths of a percentage point, respectively, from August’s figures. A year ago, unemployment stood at 4.5 percent in Ottawa County and 4.8 percent in Allegan County.
