HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The League of Women Voters of the Holland Area stage two 90-minute informational forums today on the question of redistricting in Michigan. A 3:30 PM afternoon session at Hope College’s DeWitt Center and a 7 PM evening meeting in Holland City Council Chambers will go over all aspects of this issue, as the LWV wants to shed light on whether elected lawmakers should continue to draw district lines every 10 years, based on census numbers, or should this be done by an independent committee that would be beyond political influence but not accountable to the voters.
