HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) – It was a messy scene on Holland’s North Side to begin the Monday afternoon commute. Deputies say that 62-year-old Larry Walker was hauling a load of apples from Bangor towards Fremont along northbound US-31 when he was forced to make a stop at James Street. The hard breaking caused some of the crates to shift forward in his rig and strike the cab before falling out to the right. The fruit covered James Street east of the junction for about 100 feet. Road commission crews were called in to pick up the mess. Nobody was hurt, and there was no reported damage to any vehicles.
