HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Teal colored pumpkins may be on some porches this Halloween instead of the standard orange one.
The Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) launched the campaign in 2014, the Teal Pumpkin Project to raise awareness of food allergies and promotes inclusion of all trick-or-treaters throughout the Halloween season.
Veronica LaFemina with Food Allergy Research and Education says one-in-13 children suffers from a food allergy.
Last year, households from 50 states and 7 countries participated in the Teal Pumpkin Project.
