DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Red Wings snapped their three-game losing streak after topping the New York Islanders 2-1 in Detroit Tuesday night.
Dylan Larkin opened the scoring in the second period with his 11th of the year. Michael Rasmussen scored his third goal of the season for the game-winner midway through the third.
Alex Nedeljkovic stopped 33 of the 34 shots he faced in the win.
The Red Wings improved to 14-12-and-3 and have 31 points. They are scheduled to face off against the Carolina Hurricanes on the road tomorrow night. Tuesday’s game between the Minnesota Wild and the Hurricanes was postponed due to a COVID outbreak.
Six Hurricane players and a trainer tested positive for the coronavirus over the last two days.
