HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A banker from Holland has been tabbed to serve on the State Plumbing Board.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s office announced on Friday the appointment of Joseph Alfonso, a retail banker for Fifth Third Bank. He will represent the general public on the panel that makes recommendations for code rules, licensing, and enforcement of provisions regulating the industry.
Alfonso is running as an independent against incumbent Republican Amanda Price for Ottawa County Treasurer.
Alfonso’s three-year term runs through August 28, 2020, and his appointment is subject to state Senate approval.
