HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Allegan County Prosecutor Myrene Koch has filed paperwork alerting attorneys for accused murderer Dennis Bowman, a former Hamilton resident, that she plans to include Bowman’s criminal history in his upcoming jury trial, according to the Holland Sentinel.
Bowman, already convicted in a Virginia cold-case rape and murder, has been charged in the cold-case disappearnce and murder of his adopted daughter.
Aundria Bowman disappeared in 1989, when she was just 14. Her family reported her as a runaway.
Dennis Bowman was arrested in 2019 on suspicion of the 1980 rape and murder of 25-year-old Norfolk, VA, resident Kathleen Doyle, a US Navy officer’s wife. He pleaded guilty in the Doyle case last year and is serving two life sentences.
But he was brought back to Michigan, after police searched his property and found his adoptive daughter’s remains.
Bowman told detectives girl’s death was an accident.
Prosecutors plan to bring one of the girl’s former classmates to the stand, who is expected to testify that Aundria confided she was being sexually assaulted by her adoptive father.
