DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Houston Astros picked up 18 hits in a 12-3 win over the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park Thursday night.
Myles Straw had three hits, Carlos Correa had three hits and three RBI, and Yordan Alvarez launched a grand slam in the ninth inning. Luis Garcia struck out five and allowed two runs in six innings for the Astros, who have won 11 straight games.
Jose Urena surrendered eight hits and four earned runs in three-and-two-thirds innings and Akil Baddoo had three hits for Detroit. The Tigers have still won three of four.
Wily Peralta is set to get the start for the Tigers tonight against Astros lefty Framber Valdez. The opening pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.
