ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 28, 2026) – Less than 18 months since the federal deadline on having Real ID to board commercial flights, enter federal buildings, return to the US from neighboring countries, and other regulations went into effect, there has apparently been another surge in people looking to get that enhanced personal documentation of their residency status.
That’s according to Allegan County Clerk Bob Genetski, whose office in the downtown Allegan courthouse has been a busy place for that activity.
Enforcement of Real ID requirements by US Transportation Security Administration agents at airports went into effect this past February.
