Sep 11 (Field Level Media) – The Atlanta Braves placed outfielder Lane Thomas on the 10-day injured list Friday with a strained left intercostal muscle.
Thomas, 31, was a late scratch before Thursday’s 3-1 win against the Tampa Bay Rays. His designation is retroactive to Tuesday.
Acquired in a trade with the Kansas City Royals on Aug. 2, Thomas is hitting .171 with a homer and three RBIs in 21 games with Atlanta.
For the season, he is batting .224 with 11 homers and 40 RBIs in 118 games with the Royals and Braves.
Atlanta recalled outfielder DaShawn Keirsey Jr. from Triple-A Gwinnett in a corresponding transaction before Friday’s series opener against visiting Philadelphia. The Braves enter the series with a four-game lead over the Phillies in the National League East standings.
Keirsey, 29, last played in the majors with the Minnesota Twins in 2025. He is batting .247 with six homers, 36 RBIs and 40 stolen bases in 109 games at Gwinnett this season.
