PARK TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 1, 2026) – Three persons are in custody after a string of home burglaries which occurred last week in West Michigan.
Two of the break ins occurred within a 48-hour period north of Holland. The first was a daytime burglary last Wednesday at a residence on Silver Ridge Drive, off of Lakewood Boulevard east of 160th Avenue. Two persons, armed with a knife, were apparently scared off by a 22-year-old man who was inside at the time; the victim was unhurt.
The second came last Friday evening, when suspects forced open doors and windows at a residence on Peachleaf Court, off of 152nd Avenue south of Riley Street. That house was unoccupied at the time, and several thousand dollars of jewelry, cash and valuables were taken.
Thanks in part to surveillance through the Flock camera system, a suspect vehicle was identified, and suspects linked to a Chicago-based South American theft group were eventually apprehended. The three – 44-year-old Yeisson Parra-Zarate, 33-year-old Jorge Navarrette-Caballero, and 47-year-old Luis Diaz-Montejo – were arraigned on home invasion charges on Monday by Judge Juanita Bocanegra at 58th District Court in Holland, and remain behind bars on $500,000 bond.
Detectives with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office are working with other law enforcement entities on the matter, as it is believed that this group has been targeting Asian business owners in several states.
