SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 9, 2026) – Holland’s Outdoor Discovery Center wants to strengthen its long-standing ties with the city of Saugatuck.
During last Wednesday’s City Council Workshop, members of the governing panel looked over a request from the nature-based non-profit for a $5,000 financial investment. The money would be used to continue efforts in addressing environmental restoration, recreation, conservation, and education for the Kalamazoo River Greenway.
This is one of many community initiatives that the ODC Network has been working with Saugatuck on, according to the non-profit’s Outreach Coordinator Lexie Kasper.
City Manager Ryan Cummins is recommending approval of the ODC’s request, along with accepting a donation the Network secured from the Saugatuck-Douglas Rotary Club for a kayak launch, during City Council’s 6:30 PM business meeting at Saugatuck City Hall (102 Butler St.).
