LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jul. 12, 2026) – Now that federal financial help is secured for those in 27 counties affected by April storms, Michigan Disaster Recovery Centers are now open to connect disaster assistance with those eligible to receive it.
Specialists from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the US Small Business Administration will be at eight such locations, helping survivors apply for FEMA’s Individual Assistance and SBA disaster loan programs. This includes document uploading, tips in making property more disaster-resistant, and answer questions in person. Additional pop-up sites and mobile centers will be opened through this period.

- City of Cadillac Water Operations Facility – 7241 E. 44th Road, Cadillac, MI 49601, Monday through Saturday, 8 AM to 6 PM; Sunday, 10 AM to 3 PM

- Perrinton Community Center – 305 W. Elba Street, Perrinton, MI 48871, Monday through Saturday, 8 AM to 6 PM; Sunday, 10 AM to 3 PM

On June 2nd, President Trump approved Governor Whitmer’s request for a major disaster declaration stemming from those storms, which included heavy rain, snowment, and nine confirmed tornadoes during an 11-day period across 43 counties.
