JAMESTOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jul. 4, 2026) – An 84-year-old Hudsonville man was hospitalized after crashing his SUV into a building south of his hometown late on Saturday morning.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputies believe that the unnamed motorist may have suffered a medical emergency when he was driving his vehicle southbound on 32nd Avenue at Riley Street around 11:20 AM. The SUV veered to the left, across the northbound lane, and smashed into a retail business building on the southeast corner of that junction. No other vehicles were involved.
After attending to the man at the scene, LIFE EMS staffers took him to a “Grand Rapids area hospital” for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The force of the crash caused “significant” damage to the building, and Jamestown Township Fire Department personnel was inspecting for any structural compromises. The matter remains under investigation.
