It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Jackie Stegeman Swanezy, 75, of Holland, Michigan, who left us peacefully after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Born on March 10, 1951 in Zeeland, Mi. She was the daughter of Nelson and Florraine Stegeman. Jackie lived a life of devotion to her family and loved ones. Jackie attended Zeeland Public Schools and graduated from Hope College class of ’73. She was a counselor for Camp Geneva and went on to a long and fulfilling career in Elementary Education with West Ottawa Public Schools for 34 years. Her greatest pride in life was being mother to her 2 children and Grammy to her 4 grandchildren.
Beyond her family, Jackie has been actively involved in many missions in life. She enjoyed serving others through places like Love SEWS ministry, and Kenya Hope where she served on the board after her travels to Kenya to dedicate a school in her Mother’s honor. Jackie also enjoyed traveling with her family annually to Canada for a fishing camp adventure, she traveled to the Amazon River Basin for a rainforest exploration with her daughter Jenna, and she took 2 different trips to Costa Rica. She enjoyed her many travels and time in nature. Jackie especially enjoyed her time at Lake Michigan’s shores with countless strolls on the beach.
Jackie was preceded in death by her sister in-law, Susan Swanezy.

Visitation is planned for 3:00-6:00pm, Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Langeland -Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E 16th St., Holland. A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, July 8 at Christ Memorial Church, 595 Graafschap Road, Holland (please use entrances C and D). Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather in the church’s Gathering Area for refreshments and to share memories to honor her life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations can be made in her honor to Camp Geneva in Holland, or Kenya Hope in Hudsonville.
