Gord Duimstra went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 6th after having a stroke on June 2.
He was known by family, friends, and his community as a man of deep faith. Gord was a longtime member of Oakland Christian Reformed Church where he was involved in the consistory and was also a cadet counselor for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, his horses and buggies, and finding treasures for his cowboy museum.
Gord retired after many years at Haworth as a Tool and Die Engineer.
He is preceded in death by his parents William and Grace Duimstra, his in-laws Gerald and Marion Kruithof, his sister and brother in-law, Elaine (Duimstra) and Roger Brower, and son-in-law Ken Hertz.
Gord is survived by his wife Connie Duimstra and children, Diane (Duimstra) and Robert Hoekstra, Susan (Duimstra) and Gary Vredeveld, Lisa (Duimstra) Hertz, Jon and Cindy Duimstra, 21 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, his brother Bill and Shari Duimstra, and sister-in-law, Ruth Kruithof, all of whom loved him very much.
Visitation will be on Tuesday June 9th from 5-8 PM at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 South State Street, Zeeland. The memorial service to honor the life of Gord will be held at 11 am Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Oakland Christian Reformed Church, 4460 38th Street, Hamilton. Interment will be in Bentheim Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Love INC.
