GUN PLAIN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jun. 8, 2026) – Two motorists were hospitalized following a crash involving a passenger vehicle and a semi near Plainwell on Monday afternoon.
No names were disclosed by Allegan County Sheriff’s Sergeant Ryan Rewa following the incident, which occurred around 3 PM on 106th Avenue at 11th Street. A southbound vehicle apparently failed to yield the right of way to a westbound truck hauling asphalt, causing the semi to lose control and overturn, spilling the load.
Rescuers were able to extricate the trucker from his cab, and both drivers were taken to “local hospitals” in serious condition. The area was blocked off for most of the afternoon as a result of the incident, which remains under investigation.
