HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jun. 6, 2026) – Just in time for summer, which begins on the calendar in two weeks, but has already come with the warm weather as June begins, is a cool attraction in downtown Holland.
A completely renovated and restored Splash Zone opened to the public on Thursday. Adjacent to the Suburban Inns-owned Courtyard by Marriott, the motion-activated spray fountain has above-ground nozzles which spray in various directions and patterns.
It’s a privately-owned free attraction that benefits the entire community, according to Holland City Manager Keith Van Beek.
The Splash Zone was closed the past two years due to a cracked pipe, which flooded the equipment room, destroying all pumps and electrical apparatus. It should remain open through Labor Day.
