OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 24, 2026) – The Lakeshore is not only a destination attraction for tourism, but is apparently one for residency as well.
That’s according to recent numbers disclosed by the US Census Bureau, which showed Ottawa County having an estimated count of 308,459 in 2025, up 2,269 from 2024, with a natural increase of 674 augmented by a net migration of 1,569. Since the official census count of 2020, the county has 11,566 more people, a 3.9 percent growth.
Not only are the population numbers up, but interest in county government employment is strong, according to District 1 Commissioner Jim Barry of Park Township.
The census bureau is expected to disclose local municipal population estimates later this year.
